Over the past several months I have received numerous emails and questions from inquiring minds regarding articles I posted concerning women’s roles and how they relate to teaching. Both publicly and privately I have been accused of holding positions that I do not hold as straw men have been established and quickly torn down. Some of my writings have been taken out of context or misunderstood due to a lack of clarity. Thus I would like to clarify my position and attempt to answer some of the questions posed by sincere minds.
The following audio files contain both a presentation and a question answer session from the 2006 Oklahoma City Preacher's Study on the topic of Women's Roles in the Church. Is 1 Timothy 2:8-15 a parallel passage to 1 Corinthians 14:34-35? Or, is 1 Timothy 2:8-15 larger in scope than 1 Corinthians 14:34-35? We hope our followers enjoy the material and find if both edifying and challenging to consider an important topic more closely. May God bless the Kingdom.
The following article was written and published in the O.P.A. in April of 2002. We call it back from the pages of history for the consideration of our readers and the proclamation of God's truth.
I have received a few ranting replies from people who read yesterday’s article “Women’s Roles and Public Teaching” or heard my presentation at the 4th Meeting. None of those who have sent messages attached their names, nor did most maintain a proper spirit (at least in my estimation). Thus, I will not post their replies nor respond to all of the inquiries. I would also point out that none of those who critiqued my article used any Scripture whatsoever; they merely vented their feelings and made attempts at logic. Unfortunately, logic (and poor logic at that) cannot take the place of Scripture.
