I came across the following article some time back and discovered it once again today. I do now know who the author was, but I believe they have captured quite ably the spirit of innovation that has always plagued the Lord's people. Please read and consider the following narrative as if it were written by Nadab and Abihu, ever mindful of the consequences that shortly followed.
Today I share a quote from "Church Financed Gymnasiums: God Serving or Self Serving?". Though the excerpt I have shared is written in reference to churches building gyms, I believe the point is one that has many other applications as well. Please read and consider.
Below is a pdf version of a written debate that took place a few years ago between two Church of Christ members (one being a preacher and the other being a lawyer). I found this debate very interesting and full of practical, teachable material in light of the current forms of digression facing many congregations today. Please download, read, and reflect upon both positions in light of God's Word.

I encourage you to listen to the following sermon as we I take an in-depth look at the true meaning behind the Lord's prophecy in Matthew 24. I pray this material is helpful in answering difficult questions that arise from this most intriguing passage.
