Ray Summers' commentary on Revelation is one of the few scholarly commentaries on Revelation available today. Written with the first century Roman Empire historical background in mind, Summers takes readers through an interpretation that is both logical and clear, while at the same time holding the text in high reverence. His approach is that, whatever interpretation we find in Revelation, it must have been understandable to the first readers.  He also helps his reader avoid the pitfalls of dispensationalsim and per-millinialism, while also critiquing different approaches to the book.

"The man who never reads will never be read; he who never quotes will never be quoted. He who will not use the thoughts of other men's brains proves that he has no brains of his own."
